Vienna Aquarium & Pets - Our BIG Move!

Coming into the building and walking to the right side, you will find yourself in the Fish Room. Four long banks of tanks will greet you as you look into the space.

The top view of a bank of tanks shows the plumbing making up part of the enormous wet-dry filtration system Chris is constructing. This first bank has just been filled with water, and some hardy goldfish are doing their part to start the system. As you look up, you note a lack of the long, traditional, ugly fluorescent lighting tubes so typical in any retail establishment. Instead, we are installing state-of-the-art LED lighting. These lights are unobtrusive, yet strong, and they will provide cleaner light to better highlight the colors, shapes, and textures of the aquarium denizens. The lower overall light in the Fish room limits unwanted algae growth and stress on new shipments of fish as they are stocked.

Back past the last bank of tanks in the Fish Room, you enter a door to the Koi Room.

As you can seem, the Koi room is brightly lit, and large! Koi like the light so we give them, and you lots of it, with efficient, high output flourescent fixtures. The blue and white color pallete, repeated throughout the store, really shows well here. Even the floors are blue, painted with a special epoxy floor paint immune to the challenges of constant water splashes - it is easy to mop spills right up. Other sections of the store have a blue-gray ceramic floor tile.

Way back at the far end of the room (another full-sized garage door!) stands Chris Reinhardt, owner of Vienna Aquarium and Pets, planning the next set of activities in building out the store. He had just finished plumbing one of the tank banks in the Fish Room. He is really excited about the presentation space and can't wait to bring in more of the highest quality, healthiest, and diverse species of fish!!! He says "just wait..." We can't!

As you walk halfway through the Koi Room, you turn to your left, and on the left you will find... an entire room to be devoted to fancy goldfish. Vienna Aquarium has stocked more varieties of goldfish in recent months, but nothing compared to what will be in this space!

Finally, a bit of Filtration Art: This image captures water returning to the top of one of the wet-dry filtration units in the Fish Room. We couldn't resist including this shot. It emphasizes one of our keys to successful fish-keeping, ensuring water quality. In our new location, we will continue to offer the finest advice, fish, and equipment to maximize your enjoyment and success in your hobby. (Besides, we just loved the artistry of the flowing water...)
